K5 picks up 'Wonderful World'

Film stars Matthew Broderick

LONDON — Anglo-German sales company K5 Intl. has picked up
international rights to Joshua Goldin's debut feature "Wonderful World."

Pic, currently shooting in Louisiana, stars Matthew Broderick and Sanaa Lathan in a comic fable about a bitter and cynical man who falls in love with his African houseguest.

Producers are Miranda Bailey and Matt Leutwyler of Ambush
Entertainment, and Glenn Williamson of Back Lot Pictures.

K5 Intl. was launched last January by veteran British sales agent Bill Stephens in partnership with Daniel Baur and Oliver Simon of German production and financing company K5 Films.

"Wonderful World" is the second movie they have picked up, following Tom McCarthy's Toronto and Sundance entry "The Visitor."

Starz Media and Ambush partner on comedy Lower Learning

Jason Biggs (American Pie), Rob Corddry (The Heartbreak Kid ) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) headline an ensemble cast in the twisted comedy Lower Learning. First timer, Mark Lafferty directs from his original screenplay. Starz Media is financing and distributing with Matthew Leutwyler and Sim Sarna producing.

Broderick and Lathan sign on to Wonderful World

Matthew Broderick (The Producers) and Sanaa Lathan (Something New) are set to star in writer/director Josh Goldin's bittersweet comedy/drama Wonderful World. The film begins shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana October 17, 2008. Mianda Bailey and Matthew Leutwyler are producing for Ambush with Glen Williamson.

After Dark releases Unearthed into theaters in November

After Dark Films is set to release Unearthed into U.S. theaters as part of its 8 Films To Die For series November 9 - 18th 2007. The sci-fi thriller will be out on Lionsgate DVD in early 2009.

Ambush and Sekretagent team on Sci Fi Thriller

Ambush and Sekretagent Pictures have partnered on developing and producing the psychological sci-fi thriller Below The Surface. The film about a team of scientists and mercenaries investigating the mysterious deaths of researchers working on a classified military project in the south pacific was written by John Kelly and will be directed by Matthew Leutwyler. Ambush partner Target Earth will be on board the production team as well.

Fiennes, Trachtenberg begin filming in NY

Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare In Love) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Ice Princess) are starring alongside Justin Kirk (Weeds) and Mary Tyler Moore in Against The Current. The film is currently shooting in and around New York. Peter Callahan is directing from his original screenplay. The film is being produced by Joshua Zeman and Mary Jane Skalski. Miranda Bailey and Matthew Leutwyler are executive producers for Ambush.
